Apparently, summer was not done with us yet for the year! The warm and dry weather is helpful to help us with the push to finish the project this fall.
Here’s what to expect in the next couple of weeks:
This week:
- Pavement joint patching and asphalt paving at 2nd Street/Coulee Road/Buckeye Street intersection (see below for additional information)
- Finish concrete work at the north leg of Vine Street intersection
- Continue concrete curb/sidewalk/pavement work on the west side of the road between Division Street and South Street
- Finish utility and grading work between South Street and Monroe Street in North Hudson
- Asphalt paving between Sommers Street and North End Road
Next week:
- Finish concrete work on the west side between Division Street and South Street
- Concrete pavement between South Street and Wisconsin Street in North Hudson
The schedule, as always, is subject to change based on weather and unforeseen site conditions.
The intersection of 2nd Street/Coulee Road/Buckeye Street will be busy with asphalt paving construction on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. From 6:30 am to 7:00 pm both days, traffic will not be allowed to make left turns off of 2nd Street toward Coulee Road or Buckeye Street. During some periods of time during these two days, access to/from Coulee Road and Buckeye Street at 2nd Street will be closed for asphalt paving work. When the Coulee Road and Buckeye Street approaches are not fully closed, they will be restricted to right turns onto/off of 2nd Street only. Traffic will always be able to travel north and south through the intersection on 2nd Street. When the Buckeye Street approach is closed, traffic should use Wisconsin Street. When the Coulee Road approach is closed, traffic should access businesses along Coulee Road from the 11th Street intersection. All businesses will remain open during this work.
We are also working on determining when the remaining sections of 2nd Street will be reopened to local traffic between Vine Street and St Croix Street. We hope to have an update on that segment in the next week or so.
