[ARCHIVED] Snow Forts on City Streets and Rights-of-Way

The City of Hudson Public Works Department would like to remind parents and children that snow forts or other snow structures must not be built on or near city streets, on the islands in centers of cul-de-sacs or in any area where snow plows and snow removal equipment is, or could be, used.

During the snow removal process, snow plow drivers have no way of knowing where a snow fort has been built of if anyone might be inside or around snow forts or snow structures when plowing. Crews also often come back to areas in the City in the days that follow a snowfall to clear snow where vehicles may have been parked or to clear out and/or push back snowbanks or cul-de-sac center islands.

If a child or an adult would be inside of a snow structure during the snow removal process, injury could occur.
