What is a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP)?

Outdoor recreation plans evaluate outdoor recreation supply, demand, trends, and issues. They outline the community's goals and serve to guide government and organizations in planning for future recreational resources. 

Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plans (CORP) are used to support funding and grant requests in the development of outdoor resources and facilities. Submission of the plan to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) establishes eligibility for a variety of Federal and State aids to purchase land and to add facilities to existing parklands.

Our goals for the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan are to:

The existing outdoor recreation plan envisioned the City of Hudson's recreational resources from 2021 through 2025. The document undergoes updates and amendments every five years. Some overarching goals for the update are to:

  • Add new facilities and resources that have been developed in the past five years to the plan.
  • Identify locations for future recreational amenities.
  • Update images and maps if appropriate.
  • Identify funding sources for a five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)

Upcoming Events and Timeline

The City of Hudson Comprehensive Outdoor Rec. Plan update will be a held throughout 2026.  Open house events and Park Board reviews of the plan continue to be scheduled.
