Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for repairing and maintaining over 90 miles of city streets as well as a large variety of other services to the public. Some of the services provided include:

  • Maintenance of the City's infrastructure
  • Maintain, repair and improve city streets
  • Maintain, repair and improve city sidewalks
  • Maintain, repair and improve city parking lots
  • Snow removal and ice control of city streets
  • Street sweeping of city streets
  • Striping of city streets, crosswalks and parking lots
  • Maintain traffic control at signaled intersections
  • Mowing of public right of way and parks
  • Maintain city owned street lighting
  • Refuse and recyclables collection and disposal for contracted services agreements
  • Public Works fleet management
  • Trim and remove dead, damaged and diseased trees from right of ways
  • Assist with emergency response to natural disasters
