2nd St/Hwy 35 Update 7/20

This past week saw a flurry of activity on project-related activities, and you should expect to see crews hard at work for the next few weeks getting the downtown area concrete repoured and the utilities replaced north of Vine Street. Specifically, here’s what the next couple weeks is looking like:

This week:

  • Front Street to Coulee Road: 
    • Storm sewer work at driveway to Lolo’s Restaurant and a few other storm sewer structures nearby
    • Paving of Leverty Financial parking lot and trail along east side of 2nd Street
  • Coulee Road to Vine Street:
    • Finish conduit boring operation for street light system
    • Begin pouring light pole bases on east side of the street
    • Begin pouring concrete curbs, sidewalks, driveway aprons, and pedestrian ramps on east side of the street
    • Potentially pour ½ of Locust Street concrete pavement on east side of 2nd Street
  • Vine Street to Lake Mallalieu:
    • Continue water main and sanitary sewer between Vine Street and Myrtle Street
    • Sidewalks between River Street and Division Street
    • Xcel Energy will be doing some preparatory work on their gas main between Division Street and Lake Mallalieu that will likely shift two-way traffic to the west side of the street.
  • North Hudson:
    • Finish storm sewer to half-way point between Michaelson Street and Sommers Street
    • Remove pavement, curbs, etc. north of half-way point between Michaelson Street and Sommers Street
    • Begin water and sanitary sewer work north of half-way point between Michaelson Street and Sommers Street

Next week:

  • Front Street to Coulee Road:
    • Finish storm sewer work
  • Coulee Road to Vine Street:
    • Continue concrete work on east side in downtown area. May finish such work this week.
  • Vine Street to Lake Mallalieu:
    • Finish utility work between Vine Street and Myrtle Street
    • Grading for roadway between Vine Street and Myrtle Street
  • North Hudson:
    • Water and sanitary sewer on north half of section between Michaelson Street and Sommers Street

Work schedule is dependent on weather and unforeseen site conditions.
